How is your spinal hygiene? Did you know your spinal hygiene is just as important or more important than your outward bodily hygiene? That’s right. Whether you know it or not, all health and healing in your body flows from above-down, inside-out from your brain to every single cell in your body providing life, health, and healing for a lifetime. But if you do not take proper care of your spine those messages of life that are flowing from your brain to your body will be damaged and your body will not function as it should. Since we were young we grew up understanding the importance of dental hygiene. We were taught to brush, floss, and visit a dentist regularly to maintain the health of our teeth. For some reason the idea of spinal hygiene has been completely neglected in our society. We know that the teeth need proper maintenance and upkeep, but we assume the spine just stays in proper working order for a lifetime without any necessary tender-loving-care?

Diet – Where to start?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone; many people feel overwhelmed when it comes to starting a healthy diet. You may not know which foods are “good” or “bad”, or how to prepare healthy foods, or you may simply be under the impression that you do have enough time to eat healthy. No matter what you are thinking right now, allow me to set you at ease. All of those beliefs I just covered are in really just misconceptions, and they can easily be overcome.

If you really don’t know where to start, begin with breakfast. Just starting your day off with a healthy meal helps to improve one-third of your entire diet. Begin with a healthy shake, like a berry smoothie! Blend together one-half cup of coconut milk (a healthy fat), organic eggs or protein powder (a healthy protein) and berries of your choice (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, etc.) until smooth, then pour into a glass and enjoy. You will notice a huge difference in your energy levels when you start your day off with something as healthy and delicious as this!
